A Perspective on the Synthesis, Purification, and Characterization of Porous Organic Cages [PDF]
[Image: see text] Porous organic cages present many opportunities in functional materials chemistry, but the synthetic challenges for these molecular solids are somewhat different from those faced in the areas of metal–organic frameworks, covalent ...

Freeze‐drying of layered silicate is the key to get coatings with superior gas barrier. Freeze‐drying of layered silicates modified with dodecylamine (DDA) is a highly effective technique for the preparation of barrier pigments that significantly mitigate the permeation of oxygen, water vapor, and hydrogen through polymer films containing these ...

Computational characterization and prediction of metal-organic framework properties [PDF]
In this introductory review, we give an overview of the computational chemistry methods commonly used in the field of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), to describe or predict the structures themselves and characterize their various properties, either at ...

Nets, tiles, and metal-organic frameworks
An account is given of the basic nets that are important in the description and design of metal-organic framework (MOF) structures. These are generally of minimal transitivity, a concept which is explained.

Herein, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is discussed as a powerful extension of conventional SEM for life sciences. By combining high‐resolution imaging with variable pressure and humidity, ESEM allows the analysis of untreated biological materials, supports in situ monitoring of hydration‐driven changes, and advances the functional ...
