Recent Progress on 2D‐Material‐Based Smart Textiles: Materials, Methods, and Multifunctionality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Advancements in 2D‐material‐integrated smart textiles are reviewed, with a focus on materials, fabrication methods, and multifunctional applications, including energy harvesting, monitoring, EMI shielding, energy storage, and thermal management. The discussion addresses key challenges and provides insights into the future development of next‐generation

Observational constraints on the radial mixing of stars in the galactic disk

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
Several mechanisms have been proposed in the recent years that could mix stars radially in the galactic disk, which include the effect of transient spiral arms, the interaction between the bar and the spiral structure, or the tidal interaction with a ...

Finding the Most Metal-poor Stars of the Galactic Halo with the Hamburg/ESO Objective-Prism Survey

open access: yes, 2003
I review the status of the search for extremely metal-poor halo stars with the Hamburg/ESO objective-prism survey (HES). 2194 candidate metal-poor turn-off stars and 6133 giants in the magnitude range 14 < B < 17.5 have been selected from 329 (out of 380)

X‐Ray Computed Tomography Quantifies Primary Phases and Reveals Crack Morphology in High‐Cycle Fatigue of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Primary phases and a fatigue crack are studied in a forged blank of an aluminum alloy using synchrotron and laboratory X‐ray computed tomography. To image the crack, the fatigue test is interrupted, and a static tensile load is applied to open the crack.

Stellar Models are Reliable at Low Metallicity: An Asteroseismic Age for the Ancient Very Metal-poor Star KIC 8144907

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Very-metal-poor stars ([Fe/H] < −2) are important laboratories for testing stellar models and reconstructing the formation history of our galaxy. Asteroseismology is a powerful tool to probe stellar interiors and measure ages, but few asteroseismic ...

Nucleosynthesis from massive stars 50 years after B2FH

open access: yes, 2007
We review some important observed properties of massive stars. Then we discuss how mass loss and rotation affect their evolution and help in giving better fits to observational constraints.

The Nonlinear Visco‐Hyperelastic Damage Mechanics of Individual Electrospun Polycaprolactone Fibers: Experiments and Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the complex mechanics of individual electrospun polycaprolactone fibers under small and large strains. Combining experiments with a visco‐hyperelastic damage model, this work reveals and quantifies these fibers’ nonlinear behavior, including strain‐stiffening, viscoelasticity, and damage.

Profilometry‐Based Indentation Plastometry Testing of Tungsten at High Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Profilometry‐based indentation plastometry (PIP) allows extraction of stress‐strain curves from indent profiles. Tungsten is of industrial interest but is brittle at room temperature. It does plastically deform at higher temperatures. Excellent agreement is obtained between the two techniques in this regime, but PIP also gives plasticity ...
