Beryllium abundances in metal-poor stars [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2009
We have determined beryllium abundances for 25 metal-poor stars based on the high resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio spectra from the VLT/UVES database. Our results confirm that Be abundances increase with Fe, supporting the global enrichment of Be in the Galaxy.

Boron in Very Metal‐poor Stars [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1998
We have observed the B I 2497 A line to derive the boron abundances of two very metal-poor stars selected to help in tracing the origin and evolution of this element in the early Galaxy: BD +23 3130 and HD 84937. The observations were conducted using the Goddard High Resolution Spectrograph on board the Hubble Space Telescope. A very detailed abundance

The Status of Oxygen Abundances in Metal-Poor Stars [PDF]

open access: bronzeHighlights of Astronomy, 2001
AbstractThe sensitivity of various methods of oxygen-abundance determination to the structure of the model atmosphere in a classical analysis is described, with emphasis on the treatment of convection. Oxygen-abundance results presented during this meeting are outlined.

X-Shooter GTO: evidence for a population of extremely metal-poor, alpha-poor stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The extremely metal-poor stars are the direct descendants of the first generation stars. They carry the chemical signature of the pristine Universe at the time they formed, shortly after the Big Bang.

Search for Extremely Metal-poor Stars with Gemini-N/Graces. I. Chemical-abundance Analysis

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We present stellar parameters and abundances of 13 elements for 18 very metal-poor (VMP; [Fe/H] < –2.0) stars, selected as extremely metal-poor (EMP; [Fe/H] < –3.0) candidates from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey and Large sky Area Multi-Object Fiber ...
