Nuclear-based Metallomics in Metal-based Drugs
2010This chapter will deal with the application of advanced nuclear analytical techniques in the metallodrug research, with a focus on the metabolism and metallodrug-biomolecule interactions for the most commonly studied platinum(II)- and ruthenium(III)-containing anticancer drugs.

Experiment has shown that noble metal nanoparticles (MNPs) can be successfully incorporated in gas sensors. It was established that in comparison with conventional metal oxide chemiresistors, MNPs-based devices can be operated at room temperature or slightly above, which enables easy device integration and low-power operation.

Alloys cannot be used at a higher temperature than their high vapor-pressure components permit as these components would evaporate and the specific composition with its characteristics would be lost. Considerable contamination of other tube parts by the evaporating material would also result (see sec. 14.5).
