Direct Observation of Early-stage Quantum Dot Growth Mechanisms with High-temperature Ab Initio Molecular Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) exhibit highly desirable size- and shape-dependent properties for applications from electronic devices to imaging. Indium phosphide QDs have emerged as a primary candidate to replace the more toxic CdSe QDs, but production of

The High-Resolution Structures of the Neutral and the Low pH Crystals of Aminopeptidase from \u3cem\u3eAeromonas proteolytica\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The aminopeptidase from Aeromonas proteolytica (AAP) contains two zinc ions in the active site and catalyzes the degradation of peptides. Herein we report the crystal structures of AAP at 0.95-Å resolution at neutral pH and at 1.24-Å resolution at low pH.

Stoma‐Shell Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced Plasma Confinement Catalysis in Synthesis of Ethanol from CO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy electron impact in plasma catalysis often causes excessive dissociation of active intermediates, limiting C2+ product selectivity. To address this challenge, a bio‐inspired stoma‐shell nanoarchitecture is designed to decouple electron impact from catalytic reaction zones.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

catena-Poly[[tetrakis(μ-3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoato-κ2O:O′)diruthenium(II,III)(Ru—Ru)]-μ-chlorido] with an unknown solvent

open access: yesIUCrData, 2018
[Ru2Cl{μ-O2CC6H2-3,4,5-(OMe)3}4]n was prepared by the reaction of [Ru2Cl(μ-O2CCH3]n with 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoic acid. The complex shows a paddlewheel structure with pairs of Ru atoms bridged by four carboxylate ligands.
