Evaluation of soldered connectors of two base metal ceramic alloys

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1994
Soldered connectors for two base metal ceramic alloys (nickel-chromium and cobalt-chromium) were compared by use of four different techniques: (1) infrared preceramic soldering, (2) gas and oxygen preceramic soldering, (3) porcelain furnace postsoldering under vacuum, and (4) porcelain furnace postsoldering without vacuum.

A Study on Metal-Ceramic Interface on Metal Base Dental Alloys

Key Engineering Materials, 2015
Although the literature describes many studies that attempt to define and interpret the interaction between the metal component and overlying sintered ceramic mass, researchers still have conflicting opinions. It is not yet fully understood the hybrid layer occurrence phenomenon that rises by diffusion at the sintering temperature between the ...

Characterization of the Effects of Active Filler-Metal Alloys in Joining Ceramic-to-Ceramic and Ceramic-to-Metal Materials

Defect and Diffusion Forum, 2014
This study investigated actively brazing Alumina-to-Alumina with Ag-Cu-Ti as the filler metal system and Alumina-to-Copper with Cu-Ti-Co as the filler-metal system. The research was conducted on four samples, two of which were alumina brazed to alumina (Samples 1 & 2), and the other two were alumina brazed to copper (Samples 3 & 4).

Microstructure and properties of metal/ceramic and ceramic/ceramic multilayer coatings on titanium alloy Ti6Al4V

Surface and Coatings Technology, 2017
Abstract The paper presents results concerning microstructure and mechanical properties of the metal/ceramic and ceramic/ceramic multilayer coatings obtained on Ti6Al4V alloy by the PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) vacuum arc method. During the work Cr/CrN, Ti/TiN and CrN/TiN multilayer coatings were deposited with the similar total thickness but a ...

[The test of metal-ceramic bonding strength among three ceramic alloies].

Shanghai kou qiang yi xue = Shanghai journal of stomatology, 2006
To compare the metal-ceramic bonding strength of different ceramic alloies.30 wax sheets were divided into 6 groups at random. Each group included 5 sheets. After being invested conventionally with Bellaves SH,the samples were casted and fused with porcelain. The metal-ceramic bonding strength was evaluated. The highest bonding strength was found in Bio ...

Some aspects of non‐precious metal alloys for ceramic restorations

Australian Dental Journal, 1977
Abstract— Comment is made regarding the cost, related to working properties, of non‐precious metal alloys compared to precious metal alloys for ceramics and their possible potential for the production of allergic response.

Properties of cobalt-chromium metal ceramic alloys after heat treatment

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1990
A comparison of mechanical properties of seven metal ceramic alloys in as-cast and heat-treated conditions resulted in significant differences. The alloys that were tested included seven cobalt-chromium metal ceramic alloys. Mechanical properties include strength, elongation, modulus of elasticity, and microhardness.

[Ceramic bonding with alloys of non-noble metals].

Deutsche zahnarztliche Zeitschrift, 1978
The composition of the three non-precious metal alloys used in Germany was qualitatively analysed. The surface border between ceramics and metal was examined by scan electron microscope. Results showed that a gapless apposition can be established between metal and ceramic by proper preparation of the metal alloy and the ceramic mass.
