The circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy of inorganic complexes is described. Two groups of complexes are examined, those with CD intensity associated with the π-system transitions of the ligand and those in which the d → d transitions of the central metal are the key factor.

The present invention provides complexes of the formula(L)M(X),in which M is a metal atom selected from copper, silver and gold; L is a carbene ligand; and X is a monoanionic ligand. The complexes are useful as light emitters in the emissive zone of light-emitting devices such as OLEDs. The present invention also provides organometallic complexes which

Metals, Metal Complexes, and Radiation
1989An important modality in cancer treatment is that of radiotherapy, either alone or in combination with chemotherapy. Indeed, the first treatment of cancer by X-rays followed within a year of their discovery by Rontgen [1] and it is estimated that today approximately half of all cancer patients receive radiation in some form.
