Electrodeposited Metallic Superlattices

MRS Proceedings, 1988
ABSTRACTElectrochemical deposition of artificial compositionally modulated superlattices is described. It is shown that the quality of these alloys is comparable or superior to materials produced by vapor deposition or sputtering. The ambient temperature process described by Yahalom has been modified to include a feedback and control system in order to

Alkanethiolate Reorientation during Metal Electrodeposition

Langmuir, 2002
By use of spectroscopic sum frequency generation, we studied the molecular orientation in alkanethiolate self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on Au(111) in situ during copper electrodepositon. The study is combined with an in situ scanning tunneling microscopy investigation under similar experimental conditions providing complementary real-space ...

Metal Nanowire Arrays by Electrodeposition

ChemPhysChem, 2003
AbstractWe describe two related methods for preparing arrays of nanowires composed of molybdenum, copper, nickel, gold, and palladium. Nanowires were obtained by selectively electrodepositing either a metal oxide or a metal at the step edges present on the basal plane of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) electrodes.

Metal electrodeposition on semiconductors

Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1990
Abstract The early stages of Pt electrocrystallization onto glassy carbon (GC), n-GaAs and n-InP were studied by means of (i) analysis of current-time transients and (ii) surface observations (transmission electron microscopy — TEM). It is shown that the nucleation modes depend on the substrate.

Interfacial Double‐Coordination Effect Guiding Uniform Electrodeposition for Reversible Zinc Metal Anode

Advanced Energy Materials, 2023
The long‐term reversible plating/stripping of Zn metal anode is a critical aspect within aqueous zinc‐ion batteries (ZIBs). However, it is limited by uncontrolled electrodeposition and side reactions occurring at the anode/electrolyte interface.

Tunable Microwave Absorbing Devices Enabled by Reversible Metal Electrodeposition.

ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces
Tunable microwave absorbers have gained significant interest due to their capability to actively control microwaves. However, the existing architecture-change-based approach lacks flexibility, and the active-element-based approach is constrained by a ...
