Metal matrix syntactic foams produced by pressure infiltration—The effect of infiltration parameters [PDF]
Metal matrix syntactic foams (MMSFs) were produced by pressure infiltration. Two parameters of the infiltration process (pressure and time) were varied and the infiltrated length was measured as the function of infiltration parameters in order to get ...

Development of New Foaming Agent for Metal Foam
The study of metallic foams has become attractive to researchers interested in both scientific and industrial applications. The different production methods have not been widely utilized because of difficult process control and high production costs. A new easily-available agent for metal foaming, calcium carbonate, is suggested in this work.

Inspired by natural silicified wood, a biomimetic mineralized chitin‐derived aerogel is constructed. It can withstand 81 000 times its own weight, and its backside temperature is 130.4°C after exposure to ∼1300°C butane flame for 600 s, exhibiting high‐strength, fire‐resistance, and super thermal‐insulation properties.

Catalysts for polyimide foams from aromatic isocyanates and aromatic dianhydrides [PDF]
Polyimide foam products having greatly improved burn-through and flame-spread resistance are prepared by the reaction of aromatic polyisocyanates with aromatic dianhydrides in the presence of metallic salts of octoic acid. The salts, for example stannous
