Understanding the Interplay Between Thermal Activation, Diffusion, and Phase Segregation of Molecular Dopants Blended with Polymeric Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The use of air stable but thermally labile molecules provides an efficient strategy for the N‐type doping of organic semiconductors with relatively low electron affinities. Design criteria for efficient dopants should also take into account diffusion and phase segregation that cannot be decoupled from thermally activated doping.

Arylhydrazines: Convenient Homogeneous Reductants for Scalable Cross‐Coupling

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Reductive cross‐couplings enable efficient C–C bond formation but are limited by the heterogeneity of Zn or costly reagents like TDAE. We report arylhydrazines as inexpensive, convenient reductants for Ni‐catalyzed sp2–sp3 coupling of aryl halides and secondary alkyl iodides. Mechanistic studies support hydrazine‐mediated NiII reduction for a NiI/NiIII

Fabrication of Composite Cathode for All‐Solid‐State Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
The design of composite cathodes for all‐solid‐state sodium batteries must address three critical challenges—interfacial side reactions, interfacial delamination, and highly tortuous transport pathways. This work outlines structural and interfacial strategies to optimize ion transport and mechanical stability, enabling durable, and high‐performance ...

The Future of Hydrogen‐Powered Aviation: Technologies, Challenges, and a Strategic Roadmap for Sustainable Decarbonization

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Hydrogen‐powered aviation offers a transformative pathway to zero‐emission flight by eliminating in‐flight CO2 emissions. Key considerations include propulsion systems (fuel cells and hydrogen combustion), cryogenic storage and insulation challenges, infrastructure and cost barriers, and supply‐chain constraints.

Interface Enthalpy-Entropy Competition in Nanoscale Metal Hydrides

open access: yesInorganics, 2018
We analyzed the effect of the interfacial free energy on the thermodynamics of hydrogen sorption in nano-scaled materials. When the enthalpy and entropy terms are the same for all interfaces, as in an isotropic bi-phasic system, one obtains a ...

Effects of hydrogen on metals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Several rules to guide choice of materials, and methods of welding, electroplating, and heat treatment will provide a method for minimizing failures in storage tanks and related hardware.

Exploring Quantum Support Vector Regression for Predicting Hydrogen Storage Capacity of Nanoporous Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
In this study we employed support vector regressor and quantum support vector regressor to predict the hydrogen storage capacity of metal–organic frameworks using structural and physicochemical descriptors. This study presents a comparative analysis of classical support vector regression (SVR) and quantum support vector regression (QSVR) in predicting ...

Variations of magnetic properties of UH3 with modified structure and composition

open access: yesJournal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices, 2016
UH3 based hydrides with modified structure and composition can be prepared using high H2 pressures from precursors in the form of rapidly cooled uranium alloys. While the alloys with α-U structure lead to the β-UH3 type of hydrides, γ-U alloys (bcc) lead
