Strong Coupling between On Chip Notched Ring Resonator and Nanoparticle [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2010, 2010
We have demonstrated a new photonic structure to achieve strong optical coupling between nanoparticle and photonic molecule by utilizing a notched micro ring resonators. By creating a notch in the ring resonator and putting a nanoparticle inside the notch, large spectral shifts and splittings at nm scale can be achieved, compared to only pm scale ...

Organotrialkoxysilane-Functionalized Noble Metal Monometallic, Bimetallic, and Trimetallic Nanoparticle Mediated Non-Enzymatic Sensing of Glucose by Resonance Rayleigh Scattering

open access: yesBiosensors, 2021
Organotrialkoxysilanes like 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (3-APTMS)-treated noble metal cations were rapidly converted into their respective nanoparticles in the presence of 3-glycidoxypropylytrimethoxysilane (3-GPTMS).

Ultrastable Metallic Glass Nanoparticles with Size-Dependent Mechanical Properties [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The atomistic structure of metallic glasses is closely related to properties such as strength and ductility. Here, Ni1-xBx metallic glass nanoparticles of two different sizes are compressed under quasi-hydrostatic high-pressure conditions in order to understand structural changes under stress.

Like-Charge Attraction between Metal Nanoparticles in a 1:1 Electrolyte Solution [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 122, 248005 (2019), 2019
We calculate the force between two spherical metal nanoparticles of charge Q 1 and Q 2 in a dilute 1:1 electrolyte solution. Numerically solving the non-linear Poisson-Boltzmann equation, we find that metal nanoparticles with the same sign of charge can attract one another.
