Decoherence of a particle in a ring
We consider a particle coupled to a dissipative environment and derive a perturbative formula for the dephasing rate based on the purity of the reduced probability matrix.

Properties of spin-triplet, even-parity superconductors
The physical consequences of the spin-triplet, even-parity pairing that has been predicted to exist in disordered two-dimensional electron systems are considered in detail.

Metal particles supported by porous glass
We have investigated the use of porous ‘Vycor’ glass as a supporting matrix for silver and alkali-metal particles. By different methods of preparation it was possible to produce silver particles either within the pores of the glass or on the external surface. The optical spectra of silver particles are reported and discussed.

Effects of aluminum particle size on metal acceleration for CL-20-based aluminized explosives
The addition of aluminum (Al) powder to CL-20 significantly enhances the overall energy of mixed explosives. Nonetheless, the metal acceleration ability of explosion after Al addition shows unpredictable behavior due to the unclear reaction ...

Surface treatment for valve seats [PDF]
Valve with embedded fine particles of diamond in the metal surface of the valve seat resists galling, corrosion, erosion, and cold welding. Diamond powder has an average particle diameter of 0.01 micron and is used with a standard fine diamond polishing ...
