Spontaneous closure of partial maxillectomy defects using an acrylic removable partial dental prosthesis: A case series

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract This case series describes the prosthodontic treatment of five patients who were treated with surgical resection, with or without flap reconstruction, and had remaining oronasal fistulas following their maxillary neoplasms. All five patients obtained spontaneous closure of their partial maxillectomy defects following the use of a maxillary ...

Comparative evaluation of the attractiveness of new polyethylene screens versus West African tiny target for the control of tsetse flies

open access: yesMedical and Veterinary Entomology, EarlyView.
The material has no significant difference in captures (non‐shiny cotton‐polyester screens vs. the shiny polyethylene screens), but the vertical screen attracted significantly more G. tachinoides for each type of material. Full white horizontal screen was significantly lower than the reference WATT.

Improving The Tribological Characteristics of In-House Made Acid-Activated Iraqi Bentonite Lubricating Greases Using Graphite and Polytetrafluoroethylene Nanoplatelets as Additives

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Engineering Sciences
Traditional soap-based greases such as lithium and calcium are no longer able to meet the requirements of high-performance lubrication due to their high cost and environmentally harmful nature, thus there is a need for new solid, non-organic and non ...

A Super‐Pangenome for Cultivated Citrus Reveals Evolutive Features During the Allopatric Phase of Their Reticulate Evolution

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
Structure of the cultivated citrus super‐pangenome. ABSTRACT The main genetic diversity observed in cultivated citrus results from a reticulate evolution involving four ancestral taxa whose radiation occurred in allopatry. In such context, GWAS analysis, genome diversity and transcriptomic studies will be significantly enhanced through pangenome ...

Rhizobia–Bean Symbiosis Increases Root Herbivore Attraction and Growth via Volatile Signals and Enhanced Nutrition

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The symbiosis between nitrogen‐fixing rhizobia and plants is considered mutually beneficial, yet its indirect effects on other organisms remain understudied. We examined how rhizobia symbiosis in Phaseolus vulgaris influences the behaviour and performance of Diabrotica balteata larvae. Specifically, we tested larval preference for nodulated (R+

Accelerating charge estimation in molecular dynamics simulations using physics-informed neural networks: corrosion applications

open access: yesnpj Computational Materials
Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations are used to understand the effects of corrosion on metallic materials in salt brine. Reactive force fields in classical MD enable accurate modeling of bond formation and breakage in the aqueous medium and at the metal ...

Ferrographic analysis of wear particles from sliding elastohydrodynamic experiments [PDF]

open access: yes
The Ferrograph was used to analyze wear debris generated in a sliding elastohydrodynamic contact. The amount of wear debris correlates well with the ratio of film thickness to composite surface roughness (A ratio).
