The Value Chain of Sustainable Dual Carbon Sodium Ion Capacitors

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, EarlyView.
Sodium‐ion capacitors (SICs) bridge the energy‐power gap between batteries and supercapacitors, offering sustainable and scalable energy storage solutions. This review provides a 360‐degree perspective on SIC technology, covering material choices, presodiation strategies, manufacturing challenges, applications and life cycle assessment to ensure ...

Sustainable biofuel production from fish processing waste: lipase‐catalyzed hydroesterification of tilapia residual oil

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Fishing waste and byproducts, whether naturally occurring or from industrial processing, are important sources of high‐value compounds. Fertilizers, biomaterials, cosmetics, biolubricants, and biodiesel are some of the substances that can be obtained from these residues. The objective of this study was to conduct a theoretical and experimental

A viscous compressible model of soap film flow and its equivalence with the Navier-Stokes equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
We present a quasi-two dimensional model of flowing soap films that bears striking similarity to the compressible Navier-Stokes equations. The variation in soap film thickness that is commonly used for flow visualization in experiments is analogous to density variations in the Navier-Stokes equations.

Does Openness Promote Competition? A Case Study of Indian Manufacturing [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper uses firm level data for the period 1989-2001 to analyse the working of competition in India’s manufacturing sector. It examines the impact of greater competition on profit mark-up over the last decade.

Pt/TiO2 Prepared by Mechanochemistry Boosts Photocatalytic Production of Hydrogen

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
Ball milling enables the rapid synthesis of a Pt/TiO₂ photocatalyst with atomically dispersed Pt, outperforming a conventional Pt‐cluster catalyst (1.3× higher H2 evolution from ethanol). Enhanced activity is attributed to single‐atom stabilization and suppressed surface restructuring, promoting efficient charge separation via Schottky barrier ...

The synergistic influence of metal cations on the drying and viscosity of linseed oil assessed by means of model samples containing synthesised metal carboxylates

open access: yesHeritage Science
The recent multi-analytical study carried out on the Van Eyck’s Ghent Altarpiece showed the simultaneous presence of several kinds of metal carboxylates in oil-rich glaze layers.

Investigation of the formation process of soap bubbles from soap film [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
In this paper, we study the formation process of a soap bubble by blowing soap film. Both bubble diameter and formation position were investigated in experiments. We found that the ratio between bubble size and soap film column is constant, and that the formation position increases linearly within a critical length-range. We used the theory of Rayleigh-

Revealing the Distribution of Metal Carboxylates in Oil Paint from the Micro- to Nanoscale. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Oil paints comprise pigments, drying oils, and additives that together confer desirable properties, but can react to form metal carboxylates (soaps) that may damage artworks over time. To obtain information on soap formation and aggregation, we introduce
