Atomically Precise Nanoclusters as Co‐Catalysts for Light‐Activated Microswimmer Motility

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
For the first time, atomically precise gold nanoclusters (AuNCs) are used as motility catalysts for active matter microswimmers. The nanoscale precision and controlled optical activity of AuNCs are leveraged, achieving a nearly fivefold increase in displacement under ultraviolet light compared to prototypical TiO2 microswimmers.

Full‐Solution Processed Halide Perovskite Photoanodes with Carbon/NiFe‐LDH Protection for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Water Oxidation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Solution‐processed photoelectrodes for the oxygen evolution reaction in water splitting are fabricated by using hybrid perovskite as the active layer, carbon electrodes, and NiFe‐LDH catalyst as protective and catalyst layers, respectively. The device showed an 18.07 mA cm−2 photocurrent density and an 8.51% ABPE.

Quantification of Nanoplastics and Inorganic Nanoparticles via Laser‐Induced Breakdown Detection (LIBD)

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced breakdown detection (LIBD) is a highly‐sensitive technique to quantify nanoparticles, including nanoplastics, in clean water. The limit of detection for particle concentration is as low as 104 − 106 particles mL−1 and is influenced by particle properties, notably the particle density.
