Finite element analysis of heat transfer behavior in glass fiber/metal composite materials under constant heat load

open access: yesAUTEX Research Journal
A finite element analysis model was employed to analyze the heat conduction behavior of glass fiber/metal (stainless steel, aluminum, or oxygen-free copper) composite materials under a constant thermal load of 100°C on the metal surface, i.e., the ...

Metal-Induced Energy Transfer

open access: yes, 2014
This chapter presents an overview of the recently introduced concept of metal-induced energy transfer and two of its applications. We discuss the basic principle of the method and its application to the mapping of the membrane of a living cell and to the single-molecule axial localization with 2–3 nm accuracy.

"Transfer of Impacting Water Mist on High Temperature Metal Surfaces"

open access: yes, 2003
Experimental studies were conducted to reveal the heat transfer mechanism of impacting water mist on high temperature metal surfaces. Local heat transfer coefficients were measured in the film-boiling regime at various air velocities and liquid mass ...

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Behaviour Of Metal Transfer Modes In Pulse Gas Metal Arc Welding Of Aluminum

open access: yes, 2006
The knowledge of metal transfer mode is important for achieving good quality in thin aluminium sheets welded by pulse gas metal arc welding (GMAW-P). In this study, the effects of various pulsing parameters on metal transfer mode in thin aluminium sheets

Laser-induced forward transfer on compliant receivers

open access: yes
Laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT) is a technique for the transfer of materials in solid or liquid phase. During LIFT a thin film (donor) previously coated onto a transparent carrier substrate is transferred by the explosive expansion of a small part ...

Metal-to-Ligand Electron Transfer in Diiminopyridine Complexes of Mn−Zn. A Theoretical Study

open access: yes, 2016
A series of complexes ML2x+ (M = Mn−Zn, L = 2,6-bis(iminomethyl)pyridine) was investigated by theoretical methods. Electron transfer from the metal “t2g” orbitals to the ligand π* orbitals is reflected in the elongation of ligand C−N bonds and shortening
