Effect of correction parameters on deposition characteristics in cold metal transfer welding
Materials and Manufacturing Processes, 2019The present work investigates the effect of dynamic correction (DC) and the arc length correction (ALC) parameters on the deposition of Stellite 6 filler wire on AISI H13 steel by Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) welding.

Observation and analysis of metal transfer phenomena for high-current super-TIG welding process
Science and technology of welding and joining, 2019Super-TIG welding is a newly developed TIG welding process using C-type filler metal in TIG welding. In Super-TIG welding, C-filler can prevent the molten pool depression, which is caused by high pressure in the center of the arc during high current TIG ...

Heat Transfer Characterization of Metallic Foams [PDF]
Gas−solid heat transfer coefficients were determined in open-celled metal foams as part of a study aimed at evaluating the application of metal foams as catalyst supports in gas−solid catalytic processes with short contact times and high reaction rates, typically controlled by diffusional mass transport.

A new theory of metal transfer and wear is suggested in this paper. The essence of the theory is as follows: Metal transfer and wear take place at points of actual contact. The interfaces of the high spots that actually make contact are roughened as the result of plastic deformation when they carry normal load.

Metal Transfer and the Wear Process [PDF]
Experiments have been made with a radioactive, annealed steel pin rubbing against a hardened steel ring to compare the amount of wear with the amount of metal transferred from one surface to the other by welding. It was found that a layer of transferred matter from the pin was formed on the surface of the ring and that an equilibrium condition was ...

Mass transfer in liquid metals
AIChE Journal, 1956AbstractThe rate of mass transfer was measured for solid metal shapes dissolving into mercury at room temperature. Sherwood numbers for horizontal tin, cadmium, zinc, and lead cylinders dissolving by natural convection agreed with Nusselt numbers for heat transfer in nonmetallic liquids at the same Rayleigh (Grashof × Prandtl) numbers.

Transfer of metals in the liquids of electronic cigarettes
Inhalation Toxicology, 2020Objectives: E-cigarettes are electronic devices containing a liquid that usually consists of a mixture of glycerol, propylene glycol and nicotine, with or without flavorings, in various concentrations. A vapor or aerosol is produced, and inhaled from the user, when this liquid is heated by a heating coil.
