The molecular electrochemistry of metal–organic metallamacrocycles

Current Opinion in Electrochemistry, 2018
Abstract Considering that most metallamacrocycles possess redox-active metal nodes as well as redox-active linker ligands, the number of studies aimed at investigating that inherent property is astoundingly small. This microreview summarizes the most relevant, recent work on the electrochemistry of organometallic macrocycles.

Synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of an anionic heteronuclear metallamacrocyclic triangle

Chem. Commun., 2004
trans-[Pt(C[triple bond]C(Ar)C[triple bond]CH)2(PMe3)2](Ar = C(6)Me(4)-3,4,5,6) (1) reacts with PPN[Au(acac)(2)](Hacac = acetylacetone; 1 : 1.16 molar ratio; PPN = (Ph3P)2N) to give PPN[(Au[Pt(PMe3)2]2)(mu-Ar(C[triple bond]C)2)3] (2) the crystal structure of which showed the anions as quasi equilateral triangles stacked parallel to each other through C-

Construction of a Ag12 High-Nuclearity Metallamacrocyclic 3D Framework

Inorganic Chemistry, 2010
An unprecedented high-nuclearity metallamacrocycle-based 3D silver framework with formula {[Ag(2)(C(25)H(27)N(6)O)(2)](CH(3)OH)(H(2)O)(0.17)}(n) (1), built on the basis of dodecanuclear silver building blocks, has been synthesized and characterized, and it shows strong phosphorescence emission at 10 K, which is a consequence of the presence of ...

Anion‐Templated Assembly of Half‐Sandwich Rhodium‐Based Multinuclear Metallamacrocycles

Chemistry – A European Journal, 2011
AbstractA series of half‐sandwich rhodium‐based metallamacrocycles with tetra‐ and hexanuclearities have been synthesized. They are assembled by linking the deprotonated 2,4‐diacetyl‐5‐hydroxy‐5‐methyl‐3‐(3‐pyridinyl)cyclohexanone (HL) ligand in the presence of counteranions.

Novel 48-Membered Hexadecanuclear and 60-Membered Icosanuclear Manganese Metallamacrocycles

Inorganic Chemistry, 2008
Either an S 8 symmetrical 48-membered hexadecanuclear or an S 10 symmetrical 60-membered icosanuclear manganese metallamacrocycle was self-assembled using a manganese ion and a ditopic pentadentate ligand. This was either N-4-phenylbenzoylsalicylhydrazide (H 3pbshz) containing a rigid rod-shaped, bulky biphenyl residue as a terminal N-acyl group or N-3,

Half-sandwich rhodium and iridium metallamacrocycles constructed via C–H activation

Dalton Transactions, 2016
One- or two-site C–H activation of unsymmetrical and symmetrical proligands is employed to prepare a range of rectangular metallomacrocycles with a range of isomers. The CO2adsorption of the complexes was studied, and the symmetrical, rigid ligand systems showed the best performance.

Self-Assembly of Metallamacrocycles via a Rigid Phosphorus Donor Linker

Organometallics, 2007
The coordination-driven self-assembly of a series of discrete 2D metallomacrocycles from a rigid diphosphine donor linker and Pd/Pt-containing 90° acceptors is described. All these assemblies are characterized by multinuclear NMR and, in four cases, X-ray crystallography.
