Metallicity gradients in local field star-forming galaxies: insights on inflows, outflows, and the coevolution of gas, stars and metals [PDF]
We present metallicity gradients in 49 local field star-form ing galaxies. We derive gas- phase oxygen abundances using two widely adopted metallicity calibrations based on the (O III)/H , (N II)/Hand (N II)/(O II) line ratios.

Recent Progress in Oxide‐Based Na‐Ion Conductors
Recent advances in oxide‐based sodium‐ion conductors are reviewed, focusing on β/β″‐alumina, NASICON‐type compounds, and Na5YSi4O12‐type (N5) silicates, together with emerging perovskite and layered oxides. Improvements in ionic conductivity, compositional tuning, and processing are highlighted.

Gas metallicity diagnostics in star-forming galaxies
Generally the gas metallicity in distant galaxies can only be inferred by using a few prominent emission lines. Various theoretical models have been used to predict the relationship between emission line fluxes and metallicity, suggesting that some line ...

This study demonstrates a novel noninvasive strategy to treat in‐stent restenosis using focused ultrasound. A shape memory alloy stent initially expands at body temperature. If restenosis occurs, targeted ultrasound heating thermally actuates the stent, enabling a secondary expansion to reopen the blocked vessel, offering a potential alternative to ...

Merging galaxies produce outliers from the Fundamental Metallicity Relation
From a large sample of $\approx 170,000$ local SDSS galaxies, we find that the Fundamental Metallicity Relation (FMR) has an overabundance of outliers, compared to what would be expected from a Gaussian distribution of residuals, with significantly lower

Spectral Models for Early Time SN 2011fe Observations [PDF]
We use observed UV through near IR spectra to examine whether SN 2011fe can be understood in the framework of Branch-normal SNe Ia and to examine its individual peculiarities.

GAS REGULATION OF GALAXIES: THE EVOLUTION OF THE COSMIC SPECIFIC STAR FORMATION RATE, THE METALLICITY–MASS–STAR-FORMATION RATE RELATION, AND THE STELLAR CONTENT OF HALOS [PDF]
A very simple physical model of galaxies is one in which the formation of stars is instantaneously regulated by the mass of gas in a reservoir with mass loss scaling with the star-formation rate (SFR). This model links together three different aspects of

This article demonstrates the successful qualification of a copper–tungsten composite for laser powder bed fusion. The resulting components exhibited high density, high thermal conductivity, and reduced thermal expansion. Heat sinks with complex geometries were successfully manufactured, clearly showcasing the material's potential for additive ...
