Limitation Analysis of Electrical Fire Metallographic Identification Technology
AbstractReview of the principle of electrical ignition causes and identification technology in this paper. Primary or secondary short circuited melted marks could be identified in actual fire cases to a certain extent. Respecting complicated external environment, standard metallographic identification technology is not available for all melted marks ...

Leveraging Atomic Disorder to Modulate Hydrogen Storage Thermodynamics in Intermetallics
This work introduces atomic disorder into TiFe‐based intermetallics through multi‐element substitution to tune hydrogen storage properties. A series of B2‐structured, compositionally complex intermetallics are synthesized and evaluated, revealing that increased atomic disorder enhances hydride stability.

The Influence of Sample Preparation on the Quantitative Analysis of the Volume Fraction of Martensite Formed in a 304l Trip Steel [PDF]
The metastable 304L austenitic stainless steels are susceptible to phase transformation induced by plastic deformation. The traditional metallographic preparation, via mechanical methods, introduces superficial plastic deformation from grinding and ...

A flow through cell arrangement was used to examine the oxide formation at copper–copper sulfide interface in an anoxic, sulfide environment. Oxide formation on surface occurs because of exposure to aerated water during sample preparation. On‐line sulfide detection based on the linear polarization resistance of copper is also presented.

Influence of Higher Tramp Element Level on the Weldability of Automotive Steels
The use of green recycled steels is constantly expanding in the automotive industry. The increase in tramp elements resulting from the recycling of steel is problematic. Tramp elements can lead to a negative influence on the weldability. To understand the influence, the welding properties of three green steels are characterized. The potential limits of
