The differences of damage initiation and accumulation of DP steels: a numerical and experimental analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Many studies have examined the damage behaviour of dual-phase steels already. It is a topic of high interest, since understanding the mechanisms of damage during forming processes enables the production of steels with improved properties and damage tolerance.

Analysis of fracture mechanism of cast steel under hydrostatic pressure

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2022
Plastic deformation and damage evolution in low-carbon cast steel containing non-metallic inclusions are analyzed experimentally and numerically. The cast steel was subjected to the heat treatment: normalizing, oil quenching and tempering.

Research on diffusion of Mo substrate atoms into Ti and Cr thin films by secondary ion-ion emission method [PDF]

open access: yesRussian: The Physics of Metals and Metallography, vol. 30, no. 6, pp. 1310-1312, 1970, 2012
The experimental research on the nature of diffusion by the Mo substrate atoms into the Ti and Cr deposited thin films is completed by the secondary ion-ion emission method. In [1], the initial stage of the Ti thin film on the Mo substrate deposition process, using the Ti evaporation technique in the vacuum, is researched.

Duralumin Alloys in World War II Heritage Aircraft: Correlations Between Manufacturing Parameters and Alloys’ Properties

open access: yesHeritage
Duralumin-type alloys have been employed for structural and non-structural parts of aircraft since the early 1920s up to now. In the European project “PROtection and Conservation of Heritage AirCRAFT” (PROCRAFT), up to 34 aircraft wrecks from World War ...

Colour Metallography of Cast Iron - Chapter 2: Grey Iron (Ⅱ) [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2009
Cast iron, as a traditional metal material, has advantages of low total cost, good castability and machinability, good wear resistance and low notch sensitivity, and is still facing tough challenge in quality, property and variety of types etc.

Wave formation process upon explosive welding: electron microscopic observations and imitating experiments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
A sequence of the interface transition states was investigated. A transition state has been found, during which cusps look like splashes. Images of the splashes for different joints have been obtained. The processes of self-organization of the splashes into a quasi-wave surface and a perfect wavy surface have been revealed. Simulations experiments have

High-temperature thermoelectric properties of half-Heusler phases Er$_{1-x}$Ho$_x$NiSb [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Polycrystalline samples of Er$_{1-x}$Ho$_x$NiSb ($x$ = 0, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.8, 1) were characterized by means of x-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and optical metallography. The results proved the formation of half-Heusler alloys in the entire composition range.
