Seismic Evidence of Impact Breccia and Unlithified Sediments Under Hiawatha Glacier

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 130, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract Hiawatha Crater in northwest Greenland is one of only two putative impact craters under an ice sheet. Hiawatha therefore offers a rare proxy for understanding the interactions between active glacial dynamics and impact craters on other planetary bodies.

Toward Solving the Mystery of Elevated Tectonic Degassing in South Eastern Europe: Insights From Gas Discharges Along the Vardar Suture (North Macedonia)

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 26, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract Tectonic carbon degassing is an important contributor to the global carbon cycle. South Eastern Europe is an active extensional tectonic region. This is the result of intense geodynamic events related to the closure of the Tethys Ocean, whose remnants include an ophiolite orogenic belt and the Vardar megasuture.

The Inter‐Cratonic Neoproterozoic Katangan Basin of Central Africa: Rift Basin Formation, Orogenic Inversion and Potential Fluid Pathways

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 44, Issue 7, July 2025.
Abstract The tectono‐stratigraphic development of continental basins is critical to an understanding of continental tectonics and the formation of metal deposits. The Neoproterozoic, inter‐cratonic Katangan copper basin of Central Africa records a tectono‐stratigraphic evolution and the generation of potential metal transporting fluid pathways ...
