Applications of thermodynamics in metamorphic petrology
1976This paper summarizes the principles of chemical thermodynamics in a form which is convenient for dealing with problems encountered in metamorphic petrology. Particular effort has been made to illustrate thermodynamic concepts by means of graphical representation.

Basic Concepts of Metamorphic Petrology
1965Metamorphism usually takes place in response to a rise of temperature. Progressive changes brought about in rocks by rising temperature are called progressive metamorphism. Successive rises of temperature bring about a series of reactions, which might be understood as changes of mineral assemblages approximately at equilibrium.
