The Carnmenellis Granite: Its Petrology, Metamorphism and Tectonics [PDF]
I. Introduction The Carnmenellis granite and its metamorphic aureole were mapped, in 1839, by de la Beche. The area has since been re-surveyed by the Geological Survey and the results recorded in the one-inch maps, nos. 352 and 359 (New Series) and in the Survey Memoir on the Falmouth and Camborne district (Hill & MacAlister, 1906).

Petrologic comparison of the franciscan and sanbagawa metamorphic terranes
Tectonophysics, 1967Abstract Mafic schists in California carry the typical blueschist facies assemblage of glaucophane—crossite + lawsonite 4 sphene + chlorite ± aragonite or calcite ± pumpellyite. Albite, epidote and actinolite are not common in “in situ” metabasalts.

Petrological evolution of the metamorphic sole of Oman
2013Obduction corresponds to one of plate tectonics oddities, whereby fragments of dense, oceanic lithosphere (ophiolites) are presumably 'thrust' on top of light continental ones. Though reported from most convergent belts, the emplacement of ophiolites is still poorly understood. The thin HT metamorphic soles (i.e.

Notes on the Petrology and Mineralogy of the Barrovian Metamorphic Zones
Geological Magazine, 1957AbstractThe antipathetic relation between chloritoid and biotite in the lower metamorphic grades of the Barrovian zones and the genesis of the index minerals in the higher metamorphic grades are briefly discussed. The observed mineral assemblages of 13 new analyses of peltic schists are compared with the assemblage required by the mineralogical phase ...
