Human Pathology, 1989The clinical and pathologic features of 100 examples of spindle cell carcinoma (SpCC) of the breast are reported. Eighty-three neoplasms contained overt carcinoma; 72 had infiltrating ductal or intraductal carcinoma and in 11 the carcinomatous component was purely squamous.

Laminin 5 Expression in Metaplastic Breast Carcinomas
American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2008Metaplastic carcinoma of the breast shows squamous, sarcomatous, or chondromatous differentiation and has a poor prognosis. Laminin 5 is a heterotrimer of alpha3, beta3, and gamma(2) [corrected] chains and induces aggressive properties in cancer cells including motility, invasion, and epithelial to mesenchymal transition.
