MetaFusion: An efficient metasearch engine using genetic algorithm
2016 Ninth International Conference on Contemporary Computing (IC3), 2016World Wide Web is a dynamic source of information which is expanding its content at a staggering rate. Individual search engines are not able to handle the exponential nature of web. In this paper, we describe MySearchView, a system for assembling search engines into metasearch engines. With this system, any user can create a metasearch engine by simply letting the system know the URLs of the search engines the user wants to be included and the metasearch engine will be built fully automatically.

Identifying redundant search engines in a very large scale metasearch engine context
Proceedings of the 8th annual ACM international workshop on Web information and data management, 2006For a given set of search engines, a search engine is redundant if its searchable contents can be found from other search engines in this set. In this paper, we propose a method to identify redundant search engines in a very large-scale metasearch engine context. The general problem is equivalent to an NP hard problem -- the set-covering problem.
