2D Seismic Refraction Tomography Survey on Metasediment at a Proposed Development Site in Dengkil, Selangor

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Malaysia, 2006
A geophysical survey using seismic refraction technique was carried out at a proposed development site at MINT Dengkil. The aim of the study was to characterize the subsurface materials based on seismic P-S wave velocities as well as to correlate those ...

Formation of an Al‐Rich Niccolite‐Type Silica in Subducted Oceanic Crust: Implications for Water Transport to the Deep Lower Mantle

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2022
Subducted oceanic crust is enriched in free silica. Although being one of the silica polymorphs at lower‐mantle pressures, niccolite‐type phase (Nt‐phase) has not been documented in multicomponent metabasaltic or metasediment compositions relevant to ...

Open-system magmatic evolution and crystallization conditions of the Ediacaran shoshonitic rocks from the São João do Sabugi Pluton, Borborema Province, NE Brazil

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Geology, 2021
The São João do Sabugi Pluton (SJSP) (∼579 Ma) is one of the most expressive occurrences of Ediacaran, syn- to post-collisional shoshonitic rocks in the Rio Piranhas-Seridó Domain, Borborema Province, NE Brazil.

Tracing fluid transfers in subduction zones: an integrated thermodynamic and δ18O fractionation modelling approach [PDF]

open access: yesSolid Earth, 2020
Oxygen isotope geochemistry is a powerful tool for investigating rocks that interacted with fluids, to assess fluid sources and quantify the conditions of fluid–rock interaction. We present an integrated modelling approach and the computer program PTLoop

Tourmaline occurrence and gold mineralization at a granitoid-metasediment contact in the Upper Lom Basin, east Cameroon

open access: yesSN Applied Sciences, 2023
Gold mineralization of the Upper Lom Basin in the eastern Cameroon goldfield is spatially associated with tourmaline. The goldfield belongs to the Adamawa-Yadé Domain of the Central African Fold Belt and is characterized by eluvial, alluvial and lode ...

Garnet Geochemistry and Lu-Hf Geochronology of a Gold-Bearing Sillimanite-Garnet-Biotite Gneiss at the Borden Lake Belt

open access: yesGeosciences, 2022
The Kapuskasing Structural Zone transects the Wawa and Abitibi greenstone belts in the Superior province of the Canadian Shield. At the southern margin of the Kapuskasing Structural Zone (KSZ), the Borden Gold deposit hosts low-grade-gold mineralization ...

Critical metal enrichment in crustal melts: The role of metamorphic mica

open access: yesGeology, 2022
Metals such as Li, Be, V, Co, Nb, In, Cs, Sn, Ta, and W are considered resources that are critical for modern economies. They can be significantly enriched in granites and pegmatites, but the mechanisms of enrichment remain poorly understood.

The Petrology of the Wong Tei Tung Stone Tool Manufacturing Site, Sham Chung, Hong Kong Sar, China

open access: yesInternet Archaeology, 2009
The Wong Tei Tung archaeological site was discovered in 2003. Two periods have been proposed: an earlier period dating to around 40,000 years bp, and a later period dating to around 7000 years bp, but these dates should be treated cautiously.

The age of the ferropicritic volcanics and comagmatic Ni-bearing intrusions at Pechenga, Kola Peninsula, U.S.S.R. [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Geological Society of Finland, 1990
Sm-Nd, Pb-Pb and U-Pb isotopic results are presented for samples from the Pilgujärvi Suite of the Pechenga Series. Whole rock samples and clinopyroxenes of ferropicritic volcanics yield a Sm-Nd isochron age of 1990 ± 66 Ma with εNd + 1.6 ± 0.4.
