Current Treatment Options in Gastroenterology, 1999
Liver metastases, especially from colorectal primary cancers, are treatable and potentially curable. Imaging techniques such as CT, MRI, and sonography have advanced in recent years and led to increased sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of liver metastases. Liver surgery also has been revolutionized in the past two decades. Dissections along

Brain metastases are the most common intracranial tumors and affect 20% to 30% of patients with systemic cancer. Improvements in diagnostic imaging and recent advances in treatment have resulted in extension of survival and decreased morbidity due to neurologic causes.

This article discusses the role of imaging in the evaluation of patients with known or suspected malignancies. The radionuclide skeletal scintigram is the most sensitive imaging method for screening the skeleton for metastatic disease but is inherently nonspecific.

Epidemiology of liver metastases.
Cancer Epidemiology, 2020AIMS The objectives of this study were to (1) characterize the epidemiology of liver metastases at the time of primary cancer diagnosis (synchronous liver metastases), (2) characterize the incidence trends of synchronous liver metastases from 2010-2015 ...

Brain metastases are common and deadly. Over the last 25 years GKNS has been established as an invaluable treatment. It may be used as a primary treatment or after either surgery or WBRT. Patients are assessed using one of a number of available scales. GKNS may be repeated for new metastases and for unresponsive tumors.

Optometry - Journal of the American Optometric Association, 2010
Orbital metastasis, although uncommon, is a condition optometrists should consider in a patient presenting with proptosis, ptosis, diplopia, or a lid mass with a history of cancer. However, in as many as 19% of cases, patients have no prior or concurrent history of systemic cancer when presenting with ophthalmic symptoms.

Treatment options for leptomeningeal metastases are expanding with greater tolerability and efficacy than in the past. Improved knowledge of molecular subtypes of some cancers can guide in choosing more effective therapeutic options; however, physicians should be mindful that these molecular types can be different in the central nervous system compared

Current Opinion in Neurology, 2005
Brain metastases occur in 10-30% of cancer patients, and they are associated with a dismal prognosis. Radiation therapy has been the mainstay of treatment for patients without surgically treatable lesions. For patients with good prognostic factors and a single metastasis, surgical resection is recommended.
