METASTATIC BASAL CELL CARCINOMA

Metastatic Basal‐Cell Carcinoma

The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology, 1982
Three cases of metastatic basal‐cell carcinoma are reported. All of the cases were relatively small when compared with other lesions reported in the literature. With early chemosurgical treatment of small recurrent carcinomas, metastasizing basal‐cell cacinoma will be a condition of the past.

Metastatic Basal Cell Carcinoma

The Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology, 1986
Abstract. Metastatic basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is rare and the cutaneous lesions in such cases are long‐standing and grossly neglected. In order to establish the diagnosis, certain criteria have to be satisfied. A case of BCC of the scalp that metastasized to the lungs is here reported.

Metastatic Basal Cell Carcinoma

Tumori Journal, 1970

The metastases were associated with myelophthisic anemia, leukoerythroblastosis in the peripheral blood and extramedullary hepatic hemopoiesis; these findings have not been reported before.

Atypical Presentation of Metastatic Basal Cell Carcinoma

Southern Medical Journal, 2004
Basal cell carcinoma is an indolent, slow-growing tumor that rarely metastasizes. Approximately 70% of tumors occur in the head and neck regions. If a basal cell tumor metastasizes, it usually spreads to the regional lymph nodes first, followed by the lungs.
