Metasurface transformation optics [PDF]
Transformation optics has been recently proposed as a powerful method to manipulate electromagnetic fields by using anisotropic inhomogeneous volumetric media. This method can be extended to design anisotropic modulated metasurfaces (MTSs) able to control the propagation path of surface waves.

Metasurface design constraints in Metasurface-based Virtual absorbers
2021 XXXIVth General Assembly and Scientific Symposium of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI GASS), 2021In this contribution, we will present our investigation on design limits of the metasurfaces to be used for enabling virtual absorbing in metasurface-based virtual absorbers. To reach this goal, we analytically identify the conditions under which a properly modulated monochromatic plane wave can be virtually absorbed by the system, deriving the ...

Multibeam by Metasurface Antennas
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2017We explore various possibilities for designing multibeam antennas using a single metasurface (MTS) aperture. Both single-source and multisource feeding schemes are considered. For the single-source case, two approaches are investigated. In the first one, the MTS aperture is divided into several angular sectors, each one devoted to the formation of a ...
