Bipartite Dielectric Huygens' Metasurface for Anomalous Refraction [PDF]
Huygens' metasurfaces - fundamentally based on Schelkunoff's equivalence principle, Huygens' metasurfaces consist of a two-dimensional array of Huygens' sources formed by co-located orthogonal electric and magnetic dipoles. Such metasurfaces provide electric and magnetic responses to an incoming electromagnetic (EM) wave, leading to unidirectional ...

Mechanochromic Reconfigurable Metasurfaces [PDF]
AbstractThe change of optical properties that some usually natural compounds or polymeric materials show upon the application of external stress is named mechanochromism. Herein, an artificial nanomechanical metasurface formed by a subwavelength nanowire array made of molybdenum disulfide, molybdenum oxide, and silicon nitride changes color upon ...

Coherent retroreflective metasurfaces [PDF]
Inhomogeneous metasurfaces have shown possibilities for unprecedented control of wave propagation and scattering. While it is conventional to shine a single incident plane wave from one side of these metastructures, illuminating by several waves simultaneously from both sides may enhance possibilities to control scattered waves, which results in ...

Parametric Testing of Metasurface Stirrers for Metasurfaced Reverberation Chambers [PDF]
In this paper, the correlation coefficients and the total scattering cross sections (TSCSs) for different types of metasurfaced stirrers and the traditional metallic stirrer, and the effects on field uniformity when such stirrers are used in reverberation chambers, are analyzed.

Magnetless Reflective Gyrotropic Spatial Isolator Metasurface [PDF]
We present the concept of a magnetless Reflective Gyrotropic Spatial Isolator (RGSI) metasurface. This is a birefringent metasurface that reflects vertically polarized incident waves into a horizontally polarized waves, and absorbs horizontally polarized incident waves, hence providing isolation between the two orthogonal polarization.

A review of metasurfaces: physics and applications [PDF]
Metamaterials are composed of periodic subwavelength metal/dielectric structures that resonantly couple to the electric and/or magnetic components of the incident electromagnetic fields, exhibiting properties that are not found in nature.

Diffractive Nonlocal Metasurfaces
Metasurfaces are ushering in an era of multifunctional control over optical wavefronts realized with ultrathin planarized devices. Recent advances have been enabling unprecedented control over the frequency response of these surfaces, suggesting that the

Acoustic metasurfaces derive their characteristics from the interaction between acoustic waves and specifically designed materials. The field is driven by the desire to control acoustic wave propagation using compact devices and is governed by fundamental and physical principles that provide the design rules and the functionality of a wave.

Metasurfaced Reverberation Chamber [PDF]
AbstractThe concept of metasurfaced reverberation chamber (RC) is introduced in this paper. It is shown that by coating the chamber wall with a rotating 1-bit random coding metasurface, it is possible to enlarge the test zone of the RC while maintaining the field uniformity as good as that in a traditional RC with mechanical stirrers.
