Conservative Treatment for Metatarsus Adductus, A Systematic Review of Literature.

Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, 2022
There are various treatment approaches for the subjects with metatarsus adductus, including nonsurgical and surgical treatment. Nonsurgical treatments such as serial casting, modified shoes (Bebax shoe, Ipos antiadductus shoe) and orthoses (Wheaton brace,

Effect of Metatarsus Adductus on Hallux Valgus Treated With Proximal Reverse Chevron Metatarsal Osteotomy

Foot & ankle international, 2021
Background: This study aimed to compare clinical and radiographic outcomes and recurrence rates after reverse proximal chevron metatarsal osteotomy (PCMO) for patients with hallux valgus (HV) with or without metatarsus adductus (MA). We hypothesized that

Radiographic and Clinical Outcomes of Hallux Valgus and Metatarsus Adductus Treated With a Modified Lapidus Procedure

Foot & ankle international, 2020
Background: Previous studies have found an increased rate of deformity recurrence in hallux valgus (HV) patients with concomitant metatarsus adductus (MA) undergoing metatarsal osteotomies.

METATARSUS ADDUCTOVARUS

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1949
It has become apparent to many orthopedic surgeons that the occurrence of the congenital deformity of the foot characterized primarily by adduction of the fore part of the foot, without the equinus and the varus deformities of clubfoot, has been increasing. Only one authoritative American article has appeared on the subject, 1 and that in 1933 when the

Operative Treatment for Hallux Valgus With Moderate to Severe Metatarsus Adductus

Foot & ankle international, 2019
Background: Operative treatment is indicated for patients who have symptomatic hallux valgus (HV) with moderate to severe metatarsus adductus (MA). However, there is limited information available on the operative procedures and outcomes for the treatment

High field magnetic resonance imaging contributes to diagnosis of equine distal tarsus and proximal metatarsus lesions: 103 horses

Veterinary Radiology & Ultrasound, 2018
Injury of the distal tarsus and proximal metatarsus commonly causes lameness. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) allows concurrent assessment of both the distal tarsal joints and suspensory ligament origin, and aids identification of lesions that may ...

Radiological Evaluation of a Preoperative First Metatarsal Realignment Test for Metatarsus Primus Varus and Hallux Valgus Correction by the Syndesmosis Procedure

Foot & ankle international, 2019
Background: Metatarsus primus varus correction is one of the primary surgical objectives for hallux valgus correction. Some soft tissue procedures have shown that the first metatarsal can be adequately realigned without osteotomy.

The Modified Lepird Procedure for Correction of Metatarsus Adductus.

Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery, 2019

Congenital Metatarsus Varus

The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, 1967
Congenital metatarsus varus may be thought of as a third of a club foot. There is a muscle imbalance; the tibial muscles pull the fore part of the foot into an adducted and supinated position. The deformity may not be noticed at birth, but it develops gradually in a manner similar to a deformity following poliomyelitis.
