Silicone breast implants are presented as a model system for understanding polymer permeation in vivo. Rather than representing material failure, “gel bleed” emerges from solution–diffusion transport‐mediated. By integrating polymer architecture, physicochemical transport, and biointerfacial processes, this review provides a unified framework that ...

Data‐Driven Materials Science for Energy‐Sustainable Applications
Data‐driven approaches powered by artificial intelligence are transforming materials discovery for energy sustainability. This review examines how auto‐generated high‐quality materials databases and domain‐specific language models accelerate research in photovoltaics, thermoelectrics, batteries and magnetic materials. Applications involve extraction of

Abstract The reintroduction of beavers in Germany and across Europe has revived interest in their function as ecosystem engineers and their associated impacts on landscapes, hydrological regimes, and water quality. Despite mounting evidence of effects on the hydrology and water quality of rivers, beaver distribution and the links to landscape ...

Macrofauna Associated With Submarine Groundwater Discharge Sites and a Cold Seep in Svalbard Fjords
This conceptual model illustrates how the balance between submarine groundwater discharge (SGD), glacimarine sedimentation, and benthic community development may change during glacier retreat in Arctic fjords. In present‐day marine‐terminating systems, high sedimentation and physical disturbance may mask the ecological effects of SGD.

Influence of Irrigation and Topography on Groundwater Recharge in the Canadian Prairies
Groundwater recharge in the semi‐arid, glaciated terrain of the Canadian prairies is focused under topographic depressions, which receive snowmelt runoff generated over frozen grounds (A). Irrigation increases soil water inputs and induces recharge under uplands (B).

Variation and Drivers of Water Chemistry in a Low‐Relief Wetlandscape
Dissolved organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorous, P and NH4+ and concentrations were higher in wetland water than nearby surficial groundwater. Our findings also suggest that seasonal variation in biological activity and hydrological dynamics controlled wetland water chemistry, while groundwater chemistry was primarily governed by saturation of solute ...

Urban Meteor Map: a map-based forecast of hourly rates for visual observers
The visible rate of meteors is dependent on various local viewing condition during shower peak nights. The interrelationship of the visible fraction of the night sky, radiant elevation and effects of the light pollution on sky brightness confounds ...

ABSTRACT Glaciokarst landscapes pose distinctive challenges for cosmogenic dating because meltwater and runoff can be rapidly rerouted into ponors and conduit networks, weakening glacier–river coupling and promoting local sediment storage. We reconstruct glacier retreat and postglacial stabilization on the Snežnik Plateau (SW Slovenia) using in situ ...
