Infrasound from a radar-observed meteor
Canadian Journal of Physics, 1976The shock wave produced by the hypersonic entry of a sufficiently large meteoroid into the earth's atmosphere should be detectable at ground level. An array of microbarographs operated at Springhill Meteor Observatory recorded pressure waves on December 14, 1974, believed to be associated with a large meteor detected by the Springhill radars. The time

Passive radar interferometry of meteor trails
2014 United States National Committee of URSI National Radio Science Meeting (USNC-URSI NRSM), 2014We discuss the development of single site passive radar interferometry for the RAPID (Radio Array of Portable Interferometric Detectors) project and its application to the detection of meteor trails. We utilize antennas developed for the low frequency portion of the square kilometer array (SKALA) which are zenith pointing and cover the FM band.

The Grahamstown all-sky meteor radar
Journal of Atmospheric and Terrestrial Physics, 1988Abstract A coherent-wave meteor radar system which has been in operation at Grahamstown since April 1986 is described, and some results obtained to date briefly reviewed. The radar is of the monostatic type, operating at a fixed frequency near 28 MHz, square-wave modulated at 500 Hz.

RADAR EQUIPMENT FOR CONTINUOUS METEOR OBSERVATIONS
Canadian Journal of Physics, 1966The specifications and the component parts of a 20-kW meteor radar working at about 33 Mc/sec are described. In the design of this equipment special attention was given to long-term use and constancy of performance. Serviceability characteristics are noted for 8 years of continuous use.
