Climatology of Tropical Cyclones Approaching Tanzania and Their Impacts on Rainfall in East Africa
Tropical cyclones (TCs) that approach Tanzania bring heavy rainfall over northern Mozambique, Tanzania, and southâcentral Kenya, but the occurrence of these TCs reduces precipitation over southern African countries. Easterly steering winds and the Mascarene High are key features directing TCs westward.
