Preparation and degradation of copolymers of methyl methacrylate with alkali metal methacrylates—I. Copolymerization parameters for the systems methyl methacrylate-lithium methacrylate, methyl methacrylate-sodium methacrylate and methyl methacrylate-potassium methacrylate

European Polymer Journal, 1978
Abstract Copolymerizations of methyl methacrylate with the Li, Na and K salts of methacrylic acid have been studied in methanol solution at 60°. Reactivity ratios have been calculated by the methods due to Mayo and Lewis, Fineman and Ross and Peckham. The rate of copolymerization decreases as the size of the metal cation increases, in contrast to the

Methods for the Synthesis of Methacrylic Acid and Methacrylates

Kataliz v promyshlennosti, 2020
The review provides an analysis of the literature on the existing processes for obtaining an important organic product – methacrylic acid and its ester – methyl methacrylate. The main methods of their industrial production are the synthesis from acetone and hydrocyanic acid (the acetone cyanohydrin method) and catalytic syntheses from petrochemical raw

The copolymerization of phenyl methacrylate with methacrylic acid

Polymer Science U.S.S.R., 1970
Copolymers of methacrylic acid with its esters are used as models in the hydrolysis s tudy of the respective polymethacrylates [1]. The knowledge of copolymerization constants rl and r2 permits the calculation of the acid and ester unit distribution in the copolymer chains. In this event the kinetic s tudy of the hydrolysis of copolymer samples enables

The copolymerisation of tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate and methyl methacrylate

Polymer Gels and Networks, 1996
Abstract The bulk copolymerisations of tetrahydrofurfuryl methacrylate, THFMA, and methyl methacrylate, MMA, were carried to low conversion at 60 °C, using benzoyl peroxide, BPO, as the initiator. The compositions of the copolymers were determined using 13C NMR spectroscopy.

Gelatin methacrylate/carboxybetaine methacrylate hydrogels with tunable crosslinking for controlled drug release.

Journal of materials chemistry. B, 2016
In this work, methacrylated gelatin (GelMA) based hydrogels were fabricated with carboxybetaine methacrylate (CBMA) to manipulate the properties of the gelatin-based hydrogels, since CBMA is a much smaller compound compared to gelatin.

Enzymatic synthesis of sorbitan methacrylate: Comparison of methacrylic acid and vinyl methacrylate

Biochemical Engineering Journal, 2006
Abstract “Biomaterials” is a generic term which refers to a variety of medical material which is designed to be in direct contact with living tissue. Clearly, biomaterials must be carefully and microscopically fabricated for optimal acceptance within the living organism, in both functional and structural senses. In this study, the enzymatic synthesis

Organotin polymers—I. Copolymerization parameters of tributyltin methacrylate with methyl methacrylate, propyl methacrylate and butyl methacrylate

European Polymer Journal, 1979
Abstract The monomer reactivity ratios for radical copolymerizations of tributyltin methacrylate (monomer-1) with methyl methacrylate, propyl methacrylate and butyl methacrylate have been found as r 1 = 0.79 and r 2 = 1.0, r 1 = 0.58 and r 2 = 0.9, and r 1 = 0.65 and r 2 = 0.68 respectively.
