In this work, melt electrowriting is used to fabricate a 3D printed scaffold design that generates engineered cardiac tissues with in‐plane contraction, mimicking natural myocardium. It is shown that these tissues display advanced maturation and functionality.

Electrostatic charging of non-polar colloids by reverse micelles [PDF]
Colloids dispersed in a non-polar solvent become charged when reverse micelles are added. We study the charge of individual sterically-stabilized poly(methyl methacrylate) spheres dispersed in micellar solutions of the surfactants sodium bis(2-ethyl 1-hexyl) sulfosuccinate [AOT], zirconyl 2-ethyl hexanoate [Zr(Oct)$_{2}$], and a copolymer of poly(12 ...

Shape‐Stabilization of Phase Change Materials with Carbon‐Conscious Poly(hydroxy)Urethane Foams
Poly(hydroxy)urethane (PHU) foam, derivable from carbon dioxide (CO2) and bio‐based resources, is a promising material platform for shape‐stabilizing phase change materials (PCMs). We demonstrate the encapsulation of both paraffins and calcium chloride hexahydrate in PHU foam, achieving 48 stable thermal cycles by introducing 5 wt.% barium carbonate ...

The relationship between primary polymer structure and pattern quality in the directed self‐assembly of chemically modified polystyrene‐block‐poly(methyl methacrylate) derivatives is explored. The perpendicular lamellae are aligned, with a periodicity below 20 nm. No parallel orientations or dislocations form, and line patterns are well defined over an

Dielectric properties of Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/CaCu3Ti4O12 Composites [PDF]
Materials with high dielectric constant are in great demand for the miniaturization of electronic devices. More specifically, high dielectric constant polymer-ceramic composites are useful for embedded capacitor applications. A composite consisting of giant dielectric CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) incorporated into the Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) polymer ...

Measurement of the hydrodynamic forces between two polymer-coated spheres [PDF]
The hydrodynamic forces between Brownian spheres are determined from a measurement of the correlated thermal fluctuations in particle position using a new method, two-particle cross-correlation spectroscopy (TCS). A pair of 1.3 um diameter polymer-coated poly(methyl methacrylate) were held at separations of between 2 um and 20 um using optical traps ...
