Methacrylate allergy is a common cause of allergic contact dermatitis, and its incidence has surged over the past decade. Consequently, the primary sensitizing agent, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, was recently added to the European Baseline Series of ...

Solution‐processed OLEDs containing discotic liquid‐crystalline MR‐TADF emitters are reported. Supramolecular self‐assembly induces homeotropic columnar alignment, enforcing preferential horizontal orientation of the emitter transition dipole moment in spin‐coated films, which leads to an enhancement in the device light outcoupling efficiency while ...

Drug‐Free Thrombolysis Mediated by Physically Activated Micro/Nanoparticles
Overview of particle‐mediated thrombolytic effects (thermal, mechanical, and chemical) and their activating physical stimuli (light, ultrasound, and magnetic field) in drug‐free thrombolysis. ABSTRACT Thrombus‐associated disorders rank among the world's leading causes of death, with ischemic heart disease and stroke as the main contributors.

Copolymerization of styrene with dodecyl methacrylate and octadecyl methacrylate
Styrene (Sty) was copolymerized with dodecyl methacrylate (DDMA) and with octadecyl methacrylate (ODMA) in toluene solution using 2, 2-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as a free radical initiator over a wide composition and conversion range. The copolymer composition was determined from 1H NMR spectra.

Light reflectance increases along incidence angle and transmittance significantly drops around 90‐degree incidence angle. Here, we report two‐photon laser printed micro mirrors that redirect the skimming light beam into normal light absorption. Using this technique, light‐driven micro walkers and grippers are demonstrated by using grazing incidence ...

Photon Conversion and Radiation Synergism in Eu/Tb Complexes Incorporated Poly Methyl Methacrylate
Green and red emissions in terbium and europium benzoic acids (TBA and EBA) incorporated poly methyl methacrylates (PMMA) are exhibited. Larger intensity parameters Ω2 (11.13×10-20 cm2) and Ω4 (13.15×10-20 cm2) of Eu3+ indicate a high inversion ...

CARTELS – BETWEEN THEORY, LENIENCY POLICY AND FINES [PDF]
Among the anti-competitive practices sanctioned by competition law, cartel is the most harmful to the competitive environment. Cartel participation is sanctioned both by national and community legislation with large fines, which can reach up to 10% of ...

Thermal Decomposition of Cross-linked Polybutadiene and its Copolymers [PDF]
Polybutadiene and two copolymers containing butadiene and styrene have been cross-linked by thermal processes, by the use of initiators in solution, and by intimately mixing an initiator with the polymer and then heating this blend.

ABSTRACT Engineering living matter has great clinical potential to deliver functional replacement organs. However, clinical translation remains hampered by the current inability to maintain viability of clinically relevant‐sized constructs. During the pre‐vascular phase, implants rely on nutrient diffusion for survival, which is insufficient at ...

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.
