Copolymerization of 2-Hydtoxypropyl Methacrylate with Alkyl Methacrylates
Journal of Macromolecular Science: Part A - Chemistry, 1981Abstract 2-Hydroxypropyl methacrylate (2 HPMA) has been copolym-erized with ethyl methacrylate (EMA), n-butyl methacrylate (BMA), and 2-ethylhexyl methacrylate (EHMA) in bulk at 60°C using benzoyl peroxide as initiator. The copolymer composition has been determined from the hydroxyl content. The reactivity ratios have been calculated by the YBR method.

Preparation of methacrylate monoliths
Journal of Separation Science, 2007AbstractRigid macroporous polymers developed in the early 1990s are widely used as efficient stationary phases for all types of chromatographic separations. The main advantages of so‐called monolithic supports are their high hydraulic permeability and the dominance of the convection over the diffusion mechanism of mass‐exchange under dynamic conditions

Thermoforming polymethyl methacrylate
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1995This study characterized a range of commercially available polymethyl methacrylate sheets with respect to molecular weight, residual monomer content, and glass transition temperature and then developed a thermoforming procedure that produced visually satisfactory thermoformed polymethyl methacrylate specimens.

The elastic and swelling behavior of copolymers of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, diethylene glycol methacrylate, and methacrylic acid crosslinked with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate has been studied. In the range of copolymer composition studied, Young's modulus of the swollen networks increases with the content of methacrylic acid, and its dependence ...

The compounds disclosed herein are acetylenic methacrylates having the formula\u000a\u000aCH2 = C(CH3)COO-Z-C=CH\u000a\u000awherein Z represents a divalent hydrocarbon radical having at least 2 carbon atoms. Because of their terminal acetylenic radical these compounds are very reactive and capable of producing various acetylenic derivatives.

Polyurethane or Methacrylate For Arthroplasty
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1972To the Editor.— I have just read, with considerable interest and dismay, Dr. Mandarino's reply (219:512, 1972) to Dr. Eftekhar's article on low-friction arthroplasty (218:705, 1971). Dr. Mandarino suggests, if I interpret his remarks properly, that we reconsider the use of polyurethane foam (Ostamer) as a substitute for methylmethacrylate as the ...

Problems in methacrylate embedding
1960Although certain epoxy resins have been demonstrated to be excellent embedding media for many materials, electron microscopists will continue, no doupt, to use methacrylate, for many purposes. If properly handled methacrylate is an excellent embedding medium and has the advantage of rapid penetration and consequently a much shorter delay before ...
