Investigation of Coking During Dry Reforming of Methane by Means of Thermogravimetry

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, 2014
AbstractCoking dynamics of Ni‐based and Ni‐free catalysts were studied in a magnetic suspension thermobalance under methane dry reforming conditions. Ni‐rich catalysts undergo strong coking featured with a surface saturation point where the coking rate is drastically reduced. Catalyst resistance towards coking may be enhanced by using noble‐metal‐based

Tandem Electrolysers for High‐Efficiency CO2‐to‐Acetate Conversion Driven by Full‐Spectrum Solar Energy

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A full‐spectrum solar‐driven tandem electrolysis system enables efficient CO2‐to‐acetate conversion by spectrally splitting sunlight and coupling high‐temperature SOEC CO2‐to‐CO electrolysis with ambient CO reduction. The integrated design achieves a solar‐to‐acetate efficiency of 15.8%, demonstrating effective energy‐quality matching for solar carbon ...

Carbon mitigation in the dry reforming of methane

open access: yes, 2020
Dry reforming of methane is a technique to produce syngas from biogas or CO2-rich natural gas at high temperatures, generally over a Ni or Co catalyst. Syngas produced by dry reforming has a H2/CO ratio around 1, which makes it CO-rich, and therefore suitable for the production of pure CO or Gas-to-Liquid processes.

Regulating Interfacial Water Structure on CoNi/MoN Heterostructures Boosts Electrocatalytic Nitrate Reduction to Ammonia

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
The CoNi/MoN interface effect induces electron transfer from CoNi species to MoN nanosheets, in which electron‐enriched CoNi/MoN interface captures K+ to form K+‐H2O, facilitating H2O dissociation to provide *H for accelerating hydrogenation steps, while electron‐deficient CoNi nanoparticles enhances the NO3− adsorption and reduces the free energy ...
