In this review, a unified framework of the Sabatier principle is applied to a diverse range of catalytic and electrocatalytic systems for advanced clean energy technologies, with a particular focus on the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). This approach will guide the design and development of highly active and stable catalysts for fuel cells ...

Fe–Mn heterojunctions in CaO‐based dual‐functional materials create a built‐in electric field that drives electron transfer. This process generates oxygen vacancies and facilitates CO2 activation, achieving superior conversion. Waste‐derived Fe/Ca oxides enable low‐cost, thermally stable materials, offering a strategy for sustainable carbon capture and

A sustainable synthesis of cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc) using low‐impact solvents yields high‐performance electrocatalysts with reduced waste (E‐factor 18.6). When integrated into gas diffusion electrodes, CoPc achieves up to 12% Faradays efficiency for CO2‐to‐methanol and 65% CO2‐to‐CO conversion, aligning with state‐of‐the‐art materials and enabling ...

ABSTRACT The development of synthetic procedures for preparing metal nanoparticles with controlled size using sunlight opens new avenues toward more sustainable methods with lower energy consumption. Herein, we propose the use of double‐vacancy halide perovskites as precursors for engineering highly crystalline and small platinum nanoparticles (< 3 nm)

Harnessing Acoustic Cavitation Energy for the Selective Degradation of Impurities in Glucose Syrup
The energy released during the implosion of acoustic cavitation bubbles can be harnessed and selectively transferred to a target solute, enabling its specific decomposition without degrading other solutes present in the solution. This proof of concept was demonstrated in the degradation of impurities present in trace amount in glucose syrup.
