Abstract Most of the existing experimental and theoretical studies concern the combustion of methane hydrate. There are no works comparing the features and differences of combustion of different types of gas hydrates. In addition, there is a lack of data on the comparison of different combustion methods.

Energy Conversion and Management, 2010
Abstract Three processes have been proposed for dissociation of methane hydrates: thermal stimulation, depressurization, and inhibitor injection. The obvious production approaches involve depressurization, heating and their combinations. The depressurization method is lowering the pressure inside the well and encouraging the methane hydrate to ...

Direction Controlled Methane Hydrate Growth
Crystal Growth & Design, 2015Gas hydrate growth pattern is of great importance in hydrate-based gas storage and transportation. In this work, direction controlled methane hydrate growth in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was achieved through hydrophobic modification to the hydrate growth surface and design to the existing manner of the reaction solution in the reactor.

Photocatalytic conversion of methane contained in methane hydrates
Topics in Catalysis, 2005Photocatalytic conversion of methane dissolved in water at 1 MPa and 100 MPa, and methane contained in methane hydrates was performed. Several photocatalysts based on tungsten oxide and titania was investigated. Both full spectrum and visible light were used as the illumination source.
