Characteristics of Methane Emissions and Practical Mitigation Strategies in Rice Paddy Fields [PDF]
Methane (CH4) is a potent greenhouse gas primarily emitted from flooded rice paddies under anaerobic soil conditions. As global food demand increases, CH4 emissions from rice cultivation are expected to rise, emphasizing the urgent need to establish ...

This study demonstrates a two‐stage catalytic bioreactor system that converts real food waste into high‐purity biohydrogen and biohythane. In Stage‐1, an enriched Clostridium thermocellum culture combined with Ni2+─Fe2+ bimetallic catalysis enhances hydrolysis efficiency and hydrogenase activity, resulting in a 77% increase in H2 yield and 75.8% purity

Improvement in the efficiency of hydrolysis of anaerobic digestion in sewage sludge by the use of enzymes [PDF]
The effects of enzymatic pre-treatment on a mixture of sludge (primary, secondary, digested) collected from different municipal wastewater-treatment plants was investigated by Batch experiments in the laboratory to enhance the hydrolysis of sludge.

Abstract BACKGROUND Landfill gas (LFG) and leachate are commonly treated separately through energy‐intensive processes. This study evaluated the integration of both streams in an anaerobic biotrickling filter (BTF) to achieve simultaneous methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) removal coupled with ammonium (NH4+) transformation, and how the microbial ...

Cryptic Methane-Cycling by Methanogens During Multi-Year Incubation of Estuarine Sediment
As marine sediments are buried, microbial communities transition from sulfate-reduction to methane-production after sulfate is depleted. When this biogenic methane diffuses into the overlying sulfate-rich sediments, it forms a sulfate-methane transition ...

Deteksi Keragaman Spesies Bakteri Metanogen Rumen Sapi Menggunakan Kloning Gen 16s Rrna dan Sekuensing [PDF]
Ruminants produce methane gas which contributes to enhanced greenhouse effect in the atmosphere. Cattle issued the highest methane during the fermentation of feed in the rumen.

Levels of Water-Soluble Vitamins in Methanogenic and Non-Methanogenic Bacteria [PDF]
The levels of seven water-soluble vitamins in Methanobacterium thermoautotrophicum, Methanococcus voltae, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas fluorescens , and Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron were compared by using a vitamin-requiring Leuconostoc strain. Both

Abstract Background Livestock, especially ruminants, are a major source of global methane emissions, primarily produced by methanogenic archaea during enteric fermentation. We performed a systematic review and meta‐analysis to account for factors that could influence the relationship between ruminal methanogenic populations and methane emissions, such ...
