Comparative energetic assessment of methanol production from CO₂: chemical versus electrochemical process [PDF]
Emerging emission-to-liquid (eTL) technologies that produce liquid fuels from CO₂ are a possible solution for both the global issues of greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel depletion.

State‐of‐the‐Art and Synthetic Challenges for Hydrosilane Production
The synthesis of hydrosilanes is currently energy intensive and their recycling is not considered. However, these compounds are important in many industrial fields but also for the valorization of oxygenated waste, towards a circular economy. This review compares the available synthetic routes and highlights the remaining challenges for the production ...

Hydrogen production by steam reforming of dimethyle ether over Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 and H-ZSM-5 catalysts: An experimental and modeling study [PDF]
Hydrogen was produced by steam reforming of dimethyl ether (DME) using a physical mixture of commercial HZSM-5 zeolite (for DME hydrolyzing) and Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 (for methanol steam reforming) as a catalyst in a fixed bed reactor.

Hydrogen Production by Steam Reforming of Methanol
Steam reforming of methanol, CH 3 OH + H 2 O → 3H 2 + CO 2 , was carried out over Cu/ZnO and various supported group 8-10 metal catalysts. Over Cu/ZnO catalysts prepared by a coprecipitation method, the steam reforming of methanol occurs with high selectivity regardless of composition of the catalyst and structure of the precursor (aurichalcite ...

Some considerations related to the use of the Scherrer equation in powder X-ray diffraction as applied to heterogeneous catalysts [PDF]
This short overview summarises some of the basic considerations which should be undertaken when the Scherrer equation is applied to reflection widths in X-ray diffraction patterns of heterogeneous catalysts in order to extract meaningful information ...

Potential Analysis of On‐Site Oxygen and Ozone Production for Wastewater Treatment Plants
The potential of a power‐to‐gas process focusing on the oxygen stream to cover an upcoming demand of ozone at German wastewater treatment plants is analyzed. Economic and ecological parameters are compared to the conventional production of hydrogen and oxygen. Powered by on‐site produced wind energy, the process is deemed beneficial.

Catalytic reactivity of face centered cubic PdZnα for the steam reforming of methanol
Addition of Zn to Pd changes its catalytic behavior for steam reforming of methanol. Previous work shows that improved catalytic behavior (high selectivity to CO2) is achieved by the intermetallic, tetragonal L10 phase PdZnβ1, where the Pd:Zn ratio is ...

This work applies multi‐objective optimization to investigate trade‐offs between different objectives in syngas production with solid‐oxide cell co‐electrolysis. Two system designs are investigated. By systematically exploring tradeoffs between different objectives, insights, and comparisons of the operation of these designs are achieved.

Production of middle distillates through olefin oligomerization using ZSM‐5 as a catalyst
Abstract The global transportation sector relies heavily on gasoline (C5–C12) and diesel (C11–C24), which together account for approximately 60% of its energy needs. Driven by rapid industrialization and urbanization, diesel consumption is outpacing gasoline, with projections estimating global demand by 2035 at 27 million barrels per day for gasoline ...

Modelling and Optimization of an intensified water electrolysis integrated tri-reforming coupled methanol production process [PDF]
Mitigating greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) is a crucial global endeavour due to its significant impact on climate change. Fossil fuel fired power plant-based CO2 emissions to fuel conversion can counter GHG emissions while also mitigating fuel shortage ...
