Method of fundamental solutions for partial‐slip fibrous filtration flows

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, 2008
AbstractIn this study a Stokeslet‐based method of fundamental solutions (MFS) for two‐dimensional low Reynolds number partial‐slip flows has been developed. First, the flow past an infinitely long cylinder is selected as a benchmark. The numerical accuracy is investigated in terms of the location and the number of the Stokeslets.

REGULARIZATION TECHNIQUES FOR THE METHOD OF FUNDAMENTAL SOLUTIONS

International Journal of Computational Methods, 2013
A special regularization method based on higher-order partial differential equations is presented. Instead of using the fundamental solution of the original partial differential operator with source points located outside of the domain, the original second-order partial differential equation is approximated by a higher-order one, the fundamental ...

The method of fundamental solutions for Poisson's equation

Engineering Analysis with Boundary Elements, 1995
We show how to extend the method of fundamental solutions (MFS) to solve Poisson's equation in R2 and R2 without boundary or domain discretization. To do this an approximate particular solution is found by approximating the right hand side by thin plate splines.

The method of fundamental solutions for non‐linear thermal explosions

Communications in Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1995
AbstractA numerical method based on the method of fundamental solutions, thin plate spine interpolation and monotone iteration is devised to find the minimal solution of the steady‐state blow‐up problem. The method of fundamental solutions requires neither domain nor boundary discretization and results in high accuracy and efficiency. For illustration,
