Solution of Grad–Shafranov equation by the method of fundamental solutions

Journal of Plasma Physics, 2014
In this paper we have used the Method of Fundamental Solutions (MFS) to solve the Grad–Shafranov (GS) equation for the axisymmetric equilibria of tokamak plasmas with monomial sources. These monomials are the individual terms appearing on the right-hand side of the GS equation if one expands the nonlinear terms into polynomials.

The Method of Fundamental Solutions for the Solution of Nonlinear Plane Potential Problems

IMA Journal of Numerical Analysis, 1989

Methods of Fundamental Solutions in Poroelasticity

2015
Although single- and double-layer potentials can be used to reduce the dimension of a problem, this comes at the prize of having to deal with integrals over the boundary of a domain. Moreover, these boundary integrals are singular. In order to remove the singularity, we use an approach by Runge which shifts integration towards the boundary of a larger ...

Improved 3D Surface Reconstruction via the Method of Fundamental Solutions

Numerical Mathematics: Theory, Methods and Applications, 2020
Summary: A new mathematical model of the modified bi-Helmholtz equation is proposed for the reconstruction of 3D implicit surfaces using the method of fundamental solutions. In the algorithm, we also show how to properly determine the parameter so that the spurious surface can be avoided.
