Application of the method of moving planes to conformally invariant equations

Mathematische Zeitschrift, 2004
A basic question in Riemannian geometry is to determine to what extent curvature assumptions on the Riemannian metric \(g\) impose restrictions on the topology of \((M^n,g)\). Such a question is mainly motivated by the Gauss-Bonnet theorem for two-dimensional compact manifolds: \[ 2\pi\chi(M^2)=\int_{M^2}K\,d\mu\tag{1} \] where \(d\mu\) is the area ...

Robustness of c-velocity based methods for 3D moving plane detection

Pattern Recognition and Image Analysis, 2011
The Hough-like frame called c-velocity supports a surface detection from an image sequence, without calibration. A vehicle's environment, set of 3D planes, can then be reconstructed exploiting isovelocity curves bound to an estimated optical flow. We show in this paper how the cumulative approach is robust against main perturbations.

Moving Object Detection Through Image Bit-Planes Representation Without Thresholding

IEEE transactions on intelligent transportation systems (Print), 2020
Background subtraction is an example of a moving object detection technique that uses machine vision systems. Conventional moving object detection methods need complicated thresholds for background modeling to address changes in illumination.

Implicitizing rational surfaces without base points by moving planes and moving quadrics

Computer Aided Geometric Design, 2019
It was proven by Cox, Goldman and Zhang that a tensor product rational surface without base points can be implicitized by moving quadrics whenever the rational surface doesn't contain low degree moving planes following it.

On the method of moving planes and symmetry of solutions of semilinear elliptic equations

Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 1997
The method of moving planes is a powerful technique to show the radial symmetry of solutions of the semilinear equation \[ \Delta u+f(|x|,u)=0\quad\text{in }\Omega\quad\text{and}\quad u=k\quad\text{on }\partial\Omega,\tag{P} \] where \(\Omega\) is a radially symmetric domain in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). Usually it is applied under the conditions that (a) \(u(x)

Moving terminal planes of transmission line structures in the moment method field formulation

Proceedings of the 33rd Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
A technique is described for determining the 'transmission line' voltage in the moment method field solution for different transmission line structures. An integral equation is developed which uses the full wave current distribution to find the voltage at arbitrary points along the transmission line.

Image stitching based on moving planes

Proceedings of the 2024 International Conference on Virtual Reality, Image and Signal Processing
When camera is not rotated around its optical center and the scene is not a planar, stitching method based on a single global homography induces misalignments or ghosting. Some local alignment method has been introduced for better alignment.
