Modelling multiple time-scales with flexible parametric survival models
Background There are situations when we need to model multiple time-scales in survival analysis. A usual approach in this setting would involve fitting Cox or Poisson models to a time-split dataset.

Hopf bifurcation analysis of scalar implicit neutral delay differential equation
Hopf bifurcation analysis is conducted on a scalar implicit Neutral Delay Differential Equation (NDDE) by means of the extension of two analytical methods: 1) center manifold reduction combined with normal form theory; 2) method of multiple scales.

A note on the method of multiple scales [PDF]
A modification of the method of multiple scales makes use of the expansion of parameters of the system in order to remove undesirable characteristics of the solution obtained by the usual multiple-scale method. When applied to the damped harmonic oscillator, the modification leads to the exact solution.
