Data Sources and Methods of Data Analysis

2021
In recent decades, researchers pragmatically adopted a paradigmatic relativism to overcome the longstanding paradigm of the incompatibility of positivism and constructivism in social science (Morgan 2007, 58; Tashakkori and Teddlie 2008, 9). These mixed or multi-methods research designs are merging different methods in different stages of the research ...

Visualizing method for data envelopment analysis

2007 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, 2007
To visualize the relative positions of decision making units (DMUs), this paper proposes a technique which combines a modified data envelopment analysis and an extended principal component analysis. Referring to a DMU with other related units, the former analysis works for evaluating the performance of the DMU and for determining the improvement ...

Methods for spherical data analysis and visualization

Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 1998
A systematic analysis of the localization of objects in extra-personal space requires a three-dimensional method of documenting location. In auditory localization studies the location of a sound source is often reduced to a directional vector with constant magnitude with respect to the observer, data being plotted on a unit sphere with the observer at ...

Methods of analysis of data on mitotic aneuploidy

Mutagenesis, 1987
The induction of aneuploidy in cultured mammalian cells has been studied using two chemical agents, diethylstilboestrol dipropionate and Colcemid, which act on the mitotic spindle, in order to investigate different methods of scoring and statistical analysis.

Methods for the analysis of developmental sequence data

Evolution & Development, 2009
SUMMARY Heterochrony, evolutionary changes in developmental timing, can be studied either by examining changes in growth or changes in the sequence of developmental events. Developmental sequence data has the potential to address many important questions in the field of developmental evolution, but methodological challenges remain due to the ...

Method for the analysis of thermal-pulse data

Physical Review B, 1993
A method for the analysis of thermal-pulse experiments is developed. An approximation for the electric-field distribution is calculated from thermal-pulse data in a simple way, avoiding mathematical instabilities. The heart of the method is a set of appropriately constructed differential operators.

The GUHA method in the context of data analysis

International Journal of Man-Machine Studies, 1981
In the present paper questions concerning the relation of the GUHA method to contemporary methods of exploratory data analysis are discussed. Some knowledge of the tutorial paper on the GUHA method by Hajek & Havranek (1978b) is assumed.

Methods of Data Collection and Data Analysis

1995
This chapter concentrates on the instruments of data collection and the methods of data analysis. The first two paragraphs focus on the linkage of the empirical concepts through the instruments of data collection (questionnaires, public reports and bibliometric methods) to the empirical world and to the relevant literature. Following this, the measures
