The Thermal Degradation of Nanocomposites That Contain an Oligomeric Ammonium Cation on the Clay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The thermal degradation of polystyrene, high-impact polystyrene, ABS terpolymer, poly(methyl methacrylate), polypropylene and polyethylene nanocomposites has been studied using thermogravimetric analysis coupled to Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,

Poly(methyl methacrylate)-block-polyethylene-block-poly(methyl methacrylate) Triblock Copolymers as Compatibilizers for Polyethylene/Poly(methyl methacrylate) Blends

open access: yes, 2014
Poly(methyl methacrylate)-block-polyethylene-block-poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA–PE–PMMA) triblock copolymers were prepared by a combination of ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP), hydrogenation, and reversible addition–fragmentation chain ...

Ultrahigh‐resolution (λ/10) Femtosecond Laser Writing of Polymer‐Encapsulated Multicolor Perovskite Patterns Beyond the Diffraction Limit

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fabrication of in situ polymer‐encapsulated stable perovskite patterns of arbitrary shapes and pixel arrays with a resolution of 80 nm is reported by the femtosecond (fs) laser (800 nm) super‐resolution writing technique. The two‐photon absorption‐induced laser ablation is attributed to the achieved feature sizes as small as λ/10.

Synthesis and characterization of polymeric linseed oil grafted methyl methacrylate or styrene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Syntheses of wholly natural polymeric linseed oil (PLO) containing peroxide groups have been reported. Peroxidation, epoxidation and/or perepoxidation reactions of linseed oil, either under air or under oxygen flow at room temperature, resulted in ...

Atmospheric Doping of Stretchable Polymer Semiconductors for Skin Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atmospheric doping system using oxygen molecules in air as dopants is introduced for stretchable polymer semiconductors. The chemisorbed oxygen molecules act as acceptor, lead to increase not only the hole concentration of the semiconductor film over two orders of magnitude (3.37 × 1017 cm−3) but also electrical properties of the field‐effect ...

Thermal Degradation Studies on PMMA–HET Acid Based Oligoesters Blends [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Imparting thermal stability to polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) without affecting its optical clarity is attempted by incorporating HET acid based oligoesters.

Electrostatic charging of non-polar colloids by reverse micelles

open access: yes, 2007
Colloids dispersed in a non-polar solvent become charged when reverse micelles are added. We study the charge of individual sterically-stabilized poly(methyl methacrylate) spheres dispersed in micellar solutions of the surfactants sodium bis(2-ethyl 1 ...

Functional Hydrogel for Modulating Lipid Droplets and Neuroinflammation in Head Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
After TBI, elevated cholesterol levels in activated microglia lead to the accumulation of cholesterol esters in lipid droplets, exacerbating neuroinflammation. A β‐cyclodextrin‐conjugated GelMA (βCD‐GelMA) hydrogel is developed to promotes cholesterol efflux and reduces LDL influx, thereby alleviating intracellular cholesterol and lipid droplet buildup.
